Noorderzon/Bommen Berend

Wednesday I went to Noorderzon with Runa! I've never been to Noorderzon, so it was a completely new experience :) I enjoyed it a lot, even so much that on Thursday I went again with Jette. There was even a nice band at the Dok in the evening, so we had a lot of fun too ^____^ Next year I will definitly go again!

I also have never ever been to Bommen Berend (the celebration of the liberation of Groningen), even though I have lived in Groningen for 10 years. So Friday evening I crashed at Jette's after work and together with Tijo we went to see the fireworks at the Drafbaan, where we met two other friends of Jette (Hans and Hans ;)). The fireworks were really lovely to see! The only disappointment was that it began to rain before the show was over. But with five people under an umbrella, it was very cozy! ;) Afterwards we went out in the city which was a lot of fun too. I need to convince Jette to do this more often :p The only downside was that working with a headache is not recommendable XD

Prince charming

Last week somebody asked me: have you met your prince charming yet? My answer: I do not believe in prince charming, so: no.... I do not believe in the white horse and the happily (n)ever after ;) What I do believe in? Love. I think love can conquer a lot of things. But definitely not everything. Love is sometimes live and let go.

It is a harsh reality to be living life in anywayz... It never goes the way you planned (or hoped/wished for...I do not believe in planning everything :p). My own wishes are sometimes simple, I wish he would call, and sometimes impossible, I wish my nephew did not have a life threatening disease. You have to pick yourself up and keep going, enjoying the things life does have to offer for you. As for me, you can make me happy by just letting the sun shine and to be kind as I am to others. I ask nothing more and nothing less. What you give, you should get in return is my motto. One of the others is: practice what you preach. There is nothing more frustrating than people who say one thing but do the other...

Last week(s)

I have not updated much, mainly because I have worked my butt off :P Working is getting more comfortable every day. A few days ago I had drinks with some colleagues of mine, which was very nice ^_^ And getting to know the people in charge is also always nice :)

My exam is in a few days and I cannot say I am assured I will nail it... I have had much on my mind the last weeks and have not had the proper time to study... :( But I will do everything I can the comming days to ensure I will pass. Because I really REALLY have to pass this exam.

So what more have I been up to besides work and studying? Drinking, partying when possible ;), reading, listening to music, driving lessons, wii-ing, straining my ankle and some other stuff which is sadly only given upon request :P

Work

Today was the last time I had to work this week. I worked about 26 hours in six days (and these six days where in a row). It was especially exciting because this week was the first week I had to work alone, my training was fully completed and I could be let out into the wild ;) This also means I passed my written exam for the training part :D
The work itself is nice to do. We have to answer the questions people have about the public transport. When custumors are not happy it is difficult to be the person on the other side of the line, though. I have some trouble keeping work at work and not taking it home with me. I get very frustrated by people who are telling me for example that it is very obvious that I don't work there long because somebody else answered them quicker before or some other reason. I just give the information I see before me. If they don't give me the correct information (wrong adress and stuff) I cannot help them properly. And man, they do not want to admit they are wrong... :( I feel very frustrated by this, because I am doing the best that I can and I find it very very VERY insulating that people behave to me in an inproper way (in my view). But on the other hand, there is the positive side that a lot of people are very happy with your work and the way you treat them :) So I have a lot of good experiences too ^___^
Besides the people I connect to on the phone, my co-workers are very nice people. So I'm having fun between answering the phone :) Anyhowz, I'm trying my best at this job and I hope it pays off (literally hihi).

Bicycle

"I want to ride my bicycle
I want to ride my bike"

Yes, I would really want to ride on my bike, but the damn thing broke down a few days ago [ofcourse in the middle of the night] :( Luckily for me, there are two bicycle repair shops at a 10-15 min walk. So I arrived at one of the shops, closed till the 10th of August. I thought: well at least there is another one. Closed until the 3th of August. @#$^$%^ *cough*
So I walked to the nearest bus stop and took a bus to my sweet friend Kelly, who kindly lend me her bike for the day. I had to go to work, so that was no luxury! After that, back, with the bus, to where I put my bike and took it home. The next day I could borrow a bike from my aunt and uncle, thank the lord.
Today we established what was wrong with the back tire (me and my aunt). We couldn't fix it ourselves, so I have to go to the repair shop anyway. What a hassle it is without a bike is unbelievable. Even to get the thing to the repair shop will take me way too much time :p
